🏰 Ready for an Adventure?
Hey friends,
Here’s a quick tip I’ve been finding super helpful recently - every morning I try to ask myself: what’s today’s adventure?
Last Friday for example, I had to work on my book. But I felt pretty disengaged just sitting at home on the couch on my laptop. Then it hit me: I’ve always wanted to write a book. Shouldn’t I treat this like the adventure it is?
So what does an adventure look like? Definitely not me sitting at home in my pyjamas and dressing gown, hunched over on my laptop. So I left the house, went to a new coffee shop, sat by a sunny window, and made lots of progress on editing the second chapter of the book.
And it felt fun.
So, next time you’re feeling a bit meh about something, take 5 seconds to ask: what would this look like if it was an adventure? That simple reframing could make your whole day more enjoyable.
Have a great week!

PS I asked ChatGPT to summarise this issue for the lolz:Ali encourages us to reframe mundane tasks as adventures, suggesting that this simple shift in perspective can make our days more enjoyable.
This is good, but misses the point. It’s not that we can turn mundane tasks into adventures if we try hard enough. It’s that we should stop treating actual adventures as these mundane tasks to slog through.
🧠 Notion
Notion is an incredible productivity app. I use it for all my creative and business projects, including:
🎬 Scripting Videos
📮 Writing Newsletters
🎙️ Running my Podcast
It’s also game-changing for planning personal projects like holidays, workouts, and meal prep.
My favourite thing about Notion is how easy it is to customise workflows. You can use kanban boards, video embeds, smart spreadsheets – the list goes on. It’s a super-clean and minimalist app by default. But I give my pages some character by adding emojis and images.
For more ideas, Notion has a massive online community creating page templates (check out my free set of YouTube creator templates). Get started on Notion today for free using my link: https://ntn.so/sundaysnippets.
Thank you to Notion for sponsoring this issue of Sunday Snippets 😄
♥️ My Favourite Things
📚 Productivity Book - Someday is Today by Matthew Dicks. I’ve been re-reading and highlighting the crap out of this book. It’s about going ‘from dreaming to doing’: making time to realise your ambitions instead of always saying ‘someday I’ll do X’.
👕 Clothes - Lululemon ABC Collection. These are super-comfortable trousers, a bit like tracksuit bottoms (ABC stands for Anti Ball Crushing, which is kind of fun). But they look enough like chinos that I can just swap my trainers for some boots or brogues for an instant smart-casual look.
🖥️ Tech - LG DualUp Monitor. This monitor is very tall: like two standard monitors stacked on top of each other. It’s meant to be more efficient for reading and writing, but I’m not 100% sold yet. I find my eyes drawn to the same bit of the screen as a normal monitor, and just scroll down as usual.
🚿 Tech - Bluetooth Speaker in the Bathroom. I recently asked Timo Armoo, now that he’s rich what’s a big purchase that he doesn’t regret? And he said installing a shower speaker. So I did the next best thing and stuck a cheap Bluetooth speaker in my bathroom – and showering is way more pleasant now. The music also helps me time my showers: 3 songs = roughly 10 minutes.
✍️ Quote of the WeekWhat upsets people is not things themselves but their judgements about these things.
